The Palace is Burning!

There is something strange going on in the sleepy town of Brewster. There are weird happenings to the townspeople. So far, 60% in, I'm excited to get answers to my questions. Questions such as what is the deal with the snakes and coyotes? Where is the baby? And what is this sinister presence/nature that's sweeping through the town? So far, Dobyns does a great job at describing a quaint town that sleeps at 9 pm and barely has a crime rating. I personally think that small towns, surrounded by the elements are what makes these reads so fun. Everyone's worst nightmare is being trapped in a Texas Chainsaw type town. The revelation of what's the cause of all this is why I'm burning through the pages and looking forward to the climax.
