Acting White Or Black Or Green?

I'm 30% in Acting White? This book reads like a college lecture on the basis of people who act a role when they are around certain people. One of the those roles is known as the "Working Identity". These sorts of people are racially comforting towards people who are of a different race than they are. I mention this because the authors make it known that Acting White or Black or what have you, is not limited to race baiting. Everyone plays a role when they have to. There are people who play roles in order to assimilate to the norm. Some of us play these parts to distance ourselves from stereo types that we think others may think we fall under or to destroy the stereo types we think our race, religion, creed, or sexuality fall under. The authors Devon W. Carbado and Mitu Gulati, also explain how playing the role can also damage our image. This book is a really interesting read. There is a lot of information left to cover in this book so I'm going to get back to it.
