The Good House by Ann Leary

I will begin work today on The Good House by Ann Leary. I won this book through a Goodreads giveaway. The title and book looked interesting so I put my bid in and won. Usually women's literature isn't my go-to but I do like to dabble in it occasionally. Although my stack of Jodi Piccolt novels on my bookshelf may prove me to be a liar, it's my story and I'm sticking to it. Anyway, the cover is well dressed and it doesn't hurt that the author is married to Denis Leary. He's a pretty well known actor and I've seen a few of his movies such as The Amazing Spiderman, which I don't have to tell anyone was one of the biggest movies of 2012. But I swear I did not know that Ann Leary is his wife until I got the book and read the bio about the author.

Synopsis: Hildy Good is a lifelong member of a small seaside town on Boston's North Shore. Being a good mother, grandmother, and neighbor. A true original. She is also a drinker who thinks she's got her self under control. As if trying to stay sober isn't enough, there's a scandel, some mysticism, babies, and old houses- and a love story between to old sixty something's that's as sexy as it gets. The Good House asks the question: What will it take to keep Hildy Good from drinking? For Good.
